Daniel “AIU” Higgs is a Shaman, an anarchist with radical messages from strange worlds. He is a Dervish, treading on borderlines, whose thematic native territory is the very borderline of human existence. The musical presentation of his work is crystal clear and razor sharp: either Higgs plays his Banjo like an Indian Sitar, or he creates a monotone carpet of sounds which he weaves out of his Shruti-Box—and with demonic ruthlessness, he sheds light on the human abyss. The aphoristic elements remain metaphorical and the meanings are clear, the images that Higgs produces in the imagination of his listeners through his verse are brutally explicit and leave no trace of ambiguity. His unforgettable performance in Unrock was one of the major highlights of the entire series.

Higgs captivated his awe-struck audience like no other performer in the Unrock Studio had done before. On the one hand, he was highly fascinating and resonated with strong charisma; on the other hand he was an enigmatic Sphinx. His music is a hymn to The Doors of Perception, to the borderline between clarity and insanity, a scurrile dream of the dawn of being—the thin line on which Higgs offers us to dance with him, always with one foot in the bottomless pit. Manic, hypnotic and dangerous, all at the same time. 150 hand-numbered, limited edition CDR copies boast a one-of-a-kind cover, a handmade silkscreen from Rike Stephani (Antipesto) which shows an original drawing from Daniel Higgs, which he created especially for this special recording at Unrock. Formerly known as “Til Death Do Us Part” and originally released on King Size Records back in the early 90ties. We now have a short run of only 80 copies of the original vinyl LP of this groundbreaking smash record from one of the most influential bands of the NYC lower eastside era. 80 handnumbered copies in silkscreened heavy cardboard sleeves in silver, with black/red ink with a new backcover design.

The edition features a screenprinted fold out poster showing the original art of a Honeymoon Killers gigposter, promoting a show at NYCs legendary CBGBs and a sheet with linernotes, written with true heartblood by Robert Kennedy aka Rob K. A handful of copies were printed in red on black cardboard (sold out), 160 copies were made in copper on black and the main part of the release was done in silver on black.

It was an evening of pure Sunburned magic with all the branches they brought from Michael Flowers garden to Krefeld. The branches are still here and the magic is kept. They managed to evolve a peace of steamy psychedelia, starting off as a woven carpet of Synth-Drones and stumbling into a guitar driven wild heavy-psych kraut session.
